This is because, you cannot force someone to relax and listen to you. You cannot force or make them follow suggestions you give them. For example, if I ask you to close your eyes and you don’t, then I haven’t gained that small bit of commitment. Some hypnosis requires compliance, and getting the subject to follow simple instructions is key. If you do not want to accept decisions or block the words being used by the hypnotist, then you won’t be hypnotised. It’s as simple as that. It can be possible, but it is very, very difficult.
