Why is it difficult to close the door by applying force at the hinges?

Becoz the perpendicular distance from the hinges to the point where effort is applied ,is small,so it is difficult to close the door.

since, torque=force × perpendicular distance......................
so, when we are applying force at the hinges of the door, we are getting less torque for rotating the door around its axis......
