Learning to disagree, discuss and debate, without resorting to violence.

Engaging in the discussion of ideas, but maintaining respect for others.

Understanding another person’s point of view, and expressing disagreement without offending the other person. Empathy means you can understand someone else; it does not mean that you have to agree with someone else.

When we argue, we can learn. When we shift to simply offending the other, all we learn is new ways of being aggressive, but there is no longer any learning about the topic being discussed.

If I believe in something different from what you believe, this does not mean that I have the right to shoot you. We can probably learn a lot from each other and become better persons when we learn.

Answer:

Sports is not just a national thing but has a global importance. Sports events like the Cricket world cup, the FIFA world cup, Olympics, Common wealth games and so on have brought the nations closer to each other. Sports have bound the countries together in the spirit of sportsmanship. This tie is much stronger than the political ties that we share with the countries. Sports join people and country in the spirit of nationalism and national pride and also the undeniable respect for the sports itself.
