it is bcz of the land breeze and sea breeze in certain areas.So in winters the ghat area of coastal plains absorb heat during the daytime which relishes and normalises the coldness.

It is neither too hot nor too cold in South India because the South India is the coastal region, So in winters the ghat area of coastal plains absorb heat during the daytime which relishes and normalises the coldness.
And in summers, the coastal breezes brings the cold breezes and hence, they neutralise the hot effect of summers.
