Liquid paraffin is added to glucose with yeast in anaerobic respiration experiment

The paraffin acts as barrier between oxygen and the glucose solution with yeast so that there no aerobic respiration could occur

It definitely gives the desired result to prove that anaerobic respiration occur in yeast in absence of oxygen and Carbon dioxide is released

Hence, to prove that Carbon dioxide is released during anaerobic respiration paraffin is used.
