Why is magnetic moment from south pole to north pole?

Here is your answer.

Just like electric dipole moment whose direction is from -ve charge to positI've charge..similarly in magnetism direction of magnetic dipole moment is from south pole to north pole..
Also Considering the current loop as a tiny magnet, this vector corresponds to the direction from the south to the north pole. When free to rotate, dipoles align themselves so that their moments point predominantly in the direction of the external magnetic field.
