Pros
What I like most about Schoology is it's ease of use. The interface is clean and takes on a social media feel which most of its users will be used to and appreciate.
I liked the layout and how it was always up to date. It was very easy to reach my professor and other students outside of the classroom if I needed help ..
I have had a amazing experience with schoologly. I have recommended it to many others.
It is probably user error, but I sometimes struggle with the grades. I think I may accidentally click the wrong name.
I had trouble figuring out the Turnitin integration, but that may have been more of a user error on my part.
The settings can be confusing at times and the mobile app can crash at times. Schoology support also takes some time to implement essential features which can be quite annoying at times.
Overall Schoology is going to allow for better implementation of curriculum as an online and hybrid option during this COVID19 pandemic.
Pros
Schoology integrates seemlessly into our district as we already use Powerschool so it will make it an easy transition for teachers into online learning.
Cons
The interface and mobile app could use a interface update to make it a little more friendly and easy to navigate.
Schoology: The collective learning management system used by families, educators, and students.
- Academic learning management systems like Google Classroom and Schoology were created primarily for K–12 education. All sizes of schools use both of them. In comparison, Schoology is a fully functional LMS that was created from the ground up for usage by instructors and students in a K–12 setting.
- Students may become sidetracked and stray from the core instructional objective.
- On a computer, there can never be more than one open account.
- Teacher moderating of student comments or discussions is not permitted.
- Teachers currently have access to the most recent logins of their pupils.
- An administrator has access to this data, however it is combined with other System Analytics such as examining teacher login histories, IP addresses, and other delicate/technical data.
- No, the instructor can't find cheating. Because Google Form lacks this feature.
- To provide such a monitoring option, schools may opt to use 3rd party programmes like autoproctor that interface with Google Form.
Hence, schoology has it own advantages and disadvantages.
