Why is the first homologue of KETONE Proponone and not Methanone?......thnx

it is because of the reason that Methanone contain only 1 c- atom,, no such compound exist and we know that ketone group lie in between so, it is not possible in case of methane... therefore the first compound of ketone group is Propanone.

Anonymous: because ketone occurs in between inner carbon not on terminal carbon

If you try to make it will not fulfil the conditions reqired to be a ketone.
