The Indus Valley Civilization is also very well known as Harappan civilisation, after Harappa which was the first of its cites to be excited by the archaeologists in the 1920s.

That was then the Punjab province of British India and now is situate the country Pakistan.

Thus it is after this site that the Indus valley civilization picked its name from and started to be also known as the Harappan civilisation
