why is the sun very important to the earth

Without sun' s heat and light the earth would be lifeless ball of ice - coated rock .the sun warms our seas ,stirs our temperate

first of all it provides energy to the plants through which the plants can make their food and provide oxygen which is very important for life existence.
secondly it provides Vitamin -D to humans and animals.
it provides light and heat.
if sun would not be there then our planet would have been freezed and the temperature may have gone to - without any extent.
