Why is there a difference in the climates of regions close to the oceans and regions far away from the oceans?

During the day land heats up faster than sea and during night it cools faster than sea. When the land heats up the air above it also heats up as well .
whereas the ocean heats up and cools down much slower due to which the regions close to oceans have moderate climate as compare to land farther away from ocean.
