Why is x used in majority in maths?

'X' is used in maths to show the number (variable) as it to be used as Let , In the case if we don't use to write 'LET' as x , we can write 100 as 'LET' ; and x is also used to show that it's an algebraic expression / identities.

★ NOTE :----- Example is given down to show that the majority / uses of 'x' in mathematics .
