Why isotopes has no place in mendeleev's periodic table?

isotopes are atoms of the same elements with different atomic mass and therefore should be given different position but they are chemically similar and hence they should be given the same position. Among all the isotopes of oxygen only 16 O (O SIXTEEN- AN ISOTOPE OF OXYGEN) was placed. This is the reason they don't have place in the periodic table
