why kalanchoe has been nicked named as the "maternity plant"?

This kalanchoe gets its nickname because of all the tiny little plantlets that form at its tips. When these break off onto the soil, brand new plants will start. Stems are violet and the leaves turn violet as they get older, with deeper purple spots.
