Microbes are organisms that can only degrade or destroy biodegradable substances and plastic is a non- biodegradable polymer.....They cant do this plastics are made of polymers which are made of polysaccharides that are used to preserve kneaded wheat and rubber tyres, so that's why bacteria can chew and secrete there liquid into it properly and hence they are not degraded by them !!!!#
