⭐Thats a very curious and also a hard question bkz there are many things and experiment which tells about it but not perfectly and accurately. (ᵔᴥᵔ)
⭐our right side of the brain controls left side of the body and vice-versa bkz our nerve cells wired in this way, now qúestion is why only in this way?
i don't know in which standard you are but the terms can make you confuse bkz you will study about it in college....
so now here's if we go back to hundred million years ago to see the very first evolving animal with complicated nervous systems that are getting more and more complicated and developing day by day, than when vision evolved i mean to say when animal are able to see means they got eyes ......see its a pair so both eyes when seeing same thing will provide 3d vision or picture
Now point is that the lens of the eye inverts the image that forms on the retina, so in animals like us, things seen to our left are sensed by the right half of our left eye, and by the left half of our right eye, and that's a product which forms image. ʘ‿ʘ
Now consider If each eye were to send all its nerves to just one half of the brain, the picture of the world or thing on one side of the body would be split between the two halves of the brain. Instead, it makes much more sense for this picture to be fused in just one half of the brain by the crossing over of some of the nerves of the two eyes.
and now coming on a conclusion
that wiring might be better off crossed, and 3d vision could be the cause of our brain alignments.
its a thought and a theory only....maybe there's another accurate theory which is yet to to come.
