HEY,,,,,,,

Because there are more factors that play a role. .....

∆G (Gibbs free energy) will basically tell you if a compund is soluble. It has to have a negative value for a compound to be soluble. ∆G = ∆H - T∆ S

∆G depends, at a certain temperature, on ∆H and∆ S. If the intermolecular forces that solvate are for example bigger in the case of alcohol, the process will show a greater lowering in enthalpy, which makes it more favorable to be soluble.

If the solvatation degree (how many solvent molecules suround the solute)for example turns out to be higher in the case of water that will translate to a decrease of entropy, which makes it less favorable to be soluble.

HOPES IT IS   ''OK  ''
