Why oxygen is reffered as gas.give two reasons

Oxygen is referred as a gas because it do not have a definite volume and it can be compressed or it is highly compressible.

Because of the following reasons
(i) Oxygen neither has a fixed shape nor a fixed volume.

(ii) Oxygen exerts pressure due to the collisions of the molecules on the walls of the containing vessel.
