The severe depletion of the Antarctic ozone layer known as the “ozone hole” occurs because of the special atmospheric and chemical conditions that exist there and nowhere else on the globe. The very low winter temperatures in the Antarctic stratosphere cause polar stratospheric clouds to form.... pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee mark as brainiest.

CFCs are the main cause of the depletion in the ozone layer. When they react with the Ozone molecules in the presence of Ultraviolet Rays of the Sun,the ozone molecules break down into Oxygen molecules and Chlorine monoxides. This reaction is more rapid and powerful in cooler regions and ice covered areas, and since Antarctica is colder than Arctic(beacuse the land to water ratio is high, which makes it more cool),the reaction over there is more rapid, resulting in the faster depletion of the ozone layer.Remember, ozone layer depletion is also found in Arctic region, but it is much weaker or smaller as compared to that in the Antarctica.

I have tried to explain this as simple as possible. If you understood, please mark as the brainliest.
