A hormone may stimulate changes in the cells of an organ or groups of organs, called target organs; a hormone may also directly affect the activity of all the cells in the body. Amixed gland is a gland which has both endocrine and exocrine functions. The exocrine component has ducts, through which its secretions pass.

Hii..

It is known as the heterocrine gland as it performs both functions of exocrine as well as endocrine glands.
Digestive secretions are carried out by exocrine part of the pancreas .

Whereas islets of langerhans has 4types of cells which secrete hormones like insulin ,glucagon ,somatostatin which gives the function of pancreas as an endocrine gland.
