RICE IS THE MAIN CROP  CULTIVATED IN THE GANGA-BRAHMAPUTRA BASIN BECAUSE THE MONSOON TYPE CLIMATE OF THE REGION AS WELL AS FERTILE AND RICH ALLUVIUM SOIL IS THE BEST FOR THE GROWTH OF THE RICE.
