The sericulture is the process of rearing the silk from the silkworm. It is not encouraged by the people who are working for animal protection because it involves the killing of the larva of silkworm in order to obtain silk from it, and they think it is cruelty against the insect.
Actually, In the sericulture the pupa which builds the silk around called cocoon, this cocoon is boiled into the water and slowly the which build around the pupa is removed slowly and at the end, the pupa dies. That is why it is not encouraged by the people who are working for animal protection.
