Why space charge width of a pn junction in reverse bias increases

Ans ➡️ This is because while the width of the space charge region increases as , the charge density with in the space charge region decreases as as the doping is reduced. As the PN junction is reverse biased, the depletion width increases so that eventually the depletion edge would lie in the higher doped N-region.
