Tapeworm or Taenia solium is a common harmful parasite causing Taeniasis.
It enters host body mainly through contaminated food(undercooked beef or pork), it passes through the elementary canal but doesn't get digested(it survives also in highly acidic HCl present in stomach). It is mainly because they have an acid resistant covering on their skin called 'second skin'.
