Why temperature of ice does not increases when it starts melting

If heat is coming into a substance during a phase change, then this energy is used to break the bonds between the molecules of the substance. ... At this point, the ice undergoes a change of state and turns into liquid water, and its temperature won't change until all of it has melted.
