Why the fire has not shadow

HERE IS THE ANSWER

Like dark is nothing but absence of light, shadow is just a darker surface area. The reason why flame often does not make shadow is because it itself is the source of light. ... Like Robert Frost mentioned in his answer, if the light source behind the fire was brighter than the fire itself, the flame would cast a shadow.
