A dam wall is thicker at the bottom because it takes properties that are forced and exerted as strongest close to the ground.

If the water pressure increases proportionally with depth, the lower portion of the dam all has thicker ranges.

It is also one of the strongest options which is due to curved surface and includes thicker at bottom than top.
