Why vernacular name create confusion

as there is different languages used in every different country and some times a single name is given to many spices and somtimes many names are given to single spicies .So , it creates a sort of confusion

There are over thousand of cities in the world each having different language. Vernacular names vary from areas to areas. For example, Turnip has different names within Pakistan i.e Shaljam, gongloo and shalid. When doing scientific work, it becomes difficult for the scientist to continue with the vernacular names, that is why scientific names are used to avoid confusion.
