why we kept alkali metals in kerosene oil

LibinD: React with O2 catches fire
shreya1909: Alkali metals need to be stored underoil to prevent them reacting with the oxygen and water vapour in the air. The reactivity of the alkali metals increases down the group. Potassium reacts more vigorously than sodium andlithium is the least reactive.
LibinD: Na is very reactive
mayur34: na is reacti
333Harman11: alkali metals is very reactive if we don't kept alkali metals in kerosene oil they react with oxygen and form oxides
