I think so because if any radiation occurs the petrol pump may blast or any blasts may be occur within that.

mobile phones are used by us for communication,and for other personal reasons and it will be used by signals and that signals cause some radiation in our atmosphere it is very dangerous and by that many birds oftenly causing death . The radiation causes heat and the petrol pump consists of petrol which is highly inflammable.So when we use mobiles by radiation any blast can occur so mobile phones are not allowed in Petrol pumps.
