WHAT IS POWER ?

Power is the work done in unit time .

The work done is equal to the electrical energy consumed .

Power = electrical energy / time .

Now electrical energy = Voltage × current × time .

So :

power = voltage × current × time / time

= > power = voltage × current .

Unit of current is A also called ampere.

Unit of voltage is V called volts .

Hence unit of power = vA

Now kilo volt = 1000 v

= > Unit of power can also be kvA

So it is written like that .
