The narrator and his friend were impressed with the boys behaviour and their hard work for earning money
They found the boys doing different jobs from day till night which include selling berries etc. Their are determined for that. This impressed the narrator and his companion very much.

They were very impressed by the boys because they were highly committed and devoted towards work at such a young age. They were ready to do all sorts of odd jobs to earn money. They exhibited dedication, determination and sincerity while working.
