Why work done in isothermal process is greater than adiabatic process?

Here is the answer.

As for isothermal process W= PV

whereas for adiabatic process W=
 p{v}^{1.4}

So, the slope of adiabatic curve is more than the isothermal and hence the area under the isothermal process curve will be more in P-V diagram resulting in more work for the isothermal process.
