Hey sis!! Heres your answer-

Pitcher plant is an example for insectivorous plant. The pitcher like structure is the modified

part of the leaf. The apex of the leaf forms a lid which can open and close the mouth of the

pitcher. Inside the pitcher there are hair which are directed downwards. When an insect lands

in the pitcher, the lid closes and the trapped insect gets entangled into the hair. The insect is

digested by the digestive juices secreted in the pitcher

Hope it helps. Pls mark me as brainliest.

For example we can conclude about the pitcher plant. They are unable to absorb nitrogen from the atmosphere which is very essential for their survival. But somehow their leaves appear to be like a pitcher with a lid over. At he bottom of the pitcher like structure, inside the leaves they secret a juicy substance which attracts insects and whenever he insect reaches to the juice then it simply closes its lid. The closing of leaves occurs due to sensitive cells present in the leaves of the pitcher plant. Because, if you enter your hand then too it closes its lid but you are capable of removing your hand but it is impossible in the case of an insect.
