Take a plastic mug and drill two holes in it and fix the corks in the holes and then fill the mug with half of water and fix two graphite rods to the corks and then place two test tubes upside down over the graphite rods and then pass the electricity to through the graphite rods. Add few drops of H2SO4 for faster reaction. Then the water molecules split up into hydrogen and oxygen molecules. The bubbles start to form on the water in the test tubes. Check the gas collected by bringing a burning candle near the test tubes.
