mendeleeve arranged the elements on the basis of their atomic masses and so its close to modern periodic table. He said that the periodic properties of elements are the results of their atomic masses whereas the modern table states that the periodic properties of elements are the results of their atomic numbers

1.mendeleef took consideration about chemical properties while arranging the elements.so the arrangement of elements is close to arrangement of elements in modern periodic table.
2. For this he violated his periodic law.
3. He left some gaps for elements, later those elements are discovered.
4. So,the efforts of mendeleef should be thoroughly appreciated.
