 {  \sin( \alpha ) }^{2}  +  { \cos( \alpha ) }^{2}  = 1 \\  \\  {  = \sin(30) }^{2}  +  { \cos(30) }^{2}   + { \tan(30) }^{2}  +  { \cos(30) }^{2}  \\  \\  =  {1}^{2}  +(  { \frac{1}{ \sqrt{3} }) }^{2}  +  { \sqrt{3} }^{2}  \\  \\  = 1 +   \frac{1}{3}  + 3 \\  \\  =  \frac{3 + 1 + 9}{3}  \\  \\  =  \frac{13}{3}  \\  \\ here \: is \: your \: answer
