a) \: rational \: number \:  =  \frac{ - 9}{11}  \\ numerator =  - 18 \\  \frac{ - 9}{11}  \times  \frac{2}{2}  =  \frac{ - 18}{22}  \\ b)  \: rational \: number =   \frac{ - 9}{11}  \\ denominator =  - 55 \\  \frac{ - 9}{11}  \times  \frac{ - 5}{ - 5}  =  \frac{45}{ - 55}

Answer:

a) -18/22

b) 45/-55

Explanation

a) -9/11 = -18/x

by using cross multiplication

-9×x= -18×11

-9x=198

x=198/-9

x=-22

-9/11 =-18/22

b)-9/11=x/-55

-9×55= 11×x

11x= 495

x= 45

-9/11=45/-55
