I shall always remember a picnic party that I describe here. I went to a canal (or river) in March last year with three friends of mine. All of us were on our bicycles, happy like birds and active like soldiers. We started early in the morning on a Sunday. We took food and fruit and cards with us. Two of us had mouth organs. As we reached the canal at about 8, we smiled to each other in joy. We were in a mood to enjoy ourselves to our fill (as much as possible). First of all, we decided to sit down under a tree to tell jokes. All of us had a pretty big storehouse of jokes that we emptied. We laughed so much that we forget all our troubles and problems.
Then one of my friends suggested that we have a cycle race of five kilometers along the road, beside the canal. After some thought, we jumped on our bicycles and started the race stood second. When we returned to our starting point, we were quite tired. So we lay down in the sun and rested for half an hour. We had fruit and felt quite fresh. Afterward, we played cards for some time. It was a real pleasure to sit in the open air and play and talk. The water of the canal was giving sweet musical sound, and it pleased us beyond description. Just sometime later, one of us said that it was no use sitting down. He said it would be better for them to climb some trees there. I did not like the idea, as I am not a good climber. But he said that he would himself climb a tree. He started climbing one with many branches. He reached its. top quite easily. He sat on the treetop and began laughing at us saying that we might also try to come up. Soon he started coming down. But, as he reached the middle of the tree, he found it difficult to move. Soon his foot.slipped and he fell down on the grass. As the ground was soft, he was not injured. He was very serious now, and he forgot all his earlier hits at us (remarks that he had passed on us).
We sat down on a grassy patch under tall trees and beside thick bushes. Having been tired by the exertion, we took a long rest. I even lay down and slept for a while. My other we companions also enjoyed some sleep. When we woke up, we were feeling fresh and active. We washed ourselves in the flowing water of the canal and then ate fruit. Then we started playing hide and seek around thick and tall trees. In the afternoon, we had some food and took further rest. In the evening, we returned home on bicycles, tired but satisfied at heart.

It was Sunday. There were clouds in the sky. A cool breeze was blowing. We decided to go to the park near the canal for a picnic. We were a party of ten friends. We bought some mangoes. We bought some milk and biscuits also. We went on bicycles. We reached the canal in half an hour. We spread a mat on the grass. We ate mangoes. We then took off our clothes. We jumped into the water. We swam for some time. Then we were tired. We came out of the canal. We felt hungry. We went to the park. We ate some more mangoes. Then we took tea. We took rest for some time. One boy sang a song. Another played upon the flute. We again bathed in the canal. After some time we came out. We put on our clothes. It was evening by then. We returned home. We enjoyed a lot.
