generation gap is a world wide phenomenon found in all times and all climes . generation gap is nothing but a clash of ideas between the people belonging to two different generations. in most of the cases this clash of ideas is between the old and the young . the old or the experienced people develop a wiser outlook on life which the youngsters find to be outdated thinking.
on the other hand, the youngsters with no experience on their side love to enact impulsively , emotionally following instincts more than rationality and logic.for example- imagine a family is travelling to some distance place by car. the young son will love to drive faster as it gives him thrill. however, the father and grandfather will insist on driving at driving on reasonable speed because they know the faster the driving speed the more chances of accidents.
so this difference of thinking the same issue is known as the generation gap. it exists in all families and institutes where younger and older people coexist. the best way to deal with this problem is the older people's attitude. they must try to make points clear to younger people patiently and amiably , keeping the age factor in mind.
as far as the matter of destruction of families by generation gap is concerned , it will be unjust to think that generation gap has the force to destroy families . as started earlier, there might be differences in thinking , but there can never the destruction of families . the elders are quiet adjustable; they adapt to the requirements to the younger generation and solve all the issues. sooner or later they learn family is an integral part of life without which life is full of challenges.
