GlOBAL WIND DAY

Every year it is celebrated on 15th June. This day highlights the usefullness of renewable and non-polluting sources of energy. Main objective is to increase the use of clean and renewable resource of energy. It is a day when we can celebrate the energy of wind and its great potential.

The Global Wind Day is a co-ordinated organization between Global Wind Energy Council(GWEC) and WindEurope.

On this day many events are organized all over the world to mark this occasion. Many public events are held that includes family outings to wind farm visits.

What is energy? Energy is the capacity to do work. According to the Law of Conservation of energy, energy can be converted from one form to the other form and the total amount of energy will remain the same.

The Global Wind Day uses a similar idea. Like the wind energy can be converted into electrical energy and can be used in houses,industries,etc. The wind is the horizontal movement of air. It has great power. And it can be very useful as well as destructive. Destructive nature of the wind can be observed in cyclones and tornadoes. This proves, how powerful the wind is. This power of the wind should be used to conserve the non-renewable sources of energy.

Steps to conserve energy are creating wind mills and hydal power stations should be more in number. The bio gas which is very useful source of energy should be put in use. It can be used as fuels to run car and cook food. It can be converted to electricity. It can take over all of the thermal power station.
