Subject: Insanitation in our locality

Sir,

I would like to draw your attention to the insanitary conditions in my locality. There are heaps of garbage lying at the main entrance. A part of the road has been dug forreasons unknown and rainwater has collected in it. These stagnant pools of water have become a breeding ground for flies and mosquitoes. A few cases of cholera and malaria have already been reported to the nearby hospital. Moreover, the rainwater carries the rubbish all over the streets making life very miserable for the residents. The foul smell of the stinking garbage is hard to bear. The streets of the locality are in need of immediate repair.

The sweepers have been very irregular and careless in their duties for the last two months. Our complaint about them to the Sanitary Inspector of this locality has fallen on deaf ears.

I, therefore, request the authorities to take immediate steps to improve the sanitary conditions of the locality.

The authorities are requested to sympathise with the conditions and take effective steps as early as possible.
