                                          CELEBRATING DIVERSITY,
                                    BUT WORKING FOR UNITY.

India is a land of multiple cultures and traditions. It is evident in our day to day lives; we practice different religions, have different food habits, different festivals and have different dressing styles. Despite all these differences, we're all tied by the thread of nationalism and unity.

We have Indian blood flowing in our veins; and we must be proud of living of this pious land where once Aryabhatta once postulated his theories and where mighty kings like Ashoka spread their message of peace.

We all are diverse. You may be a Gujrati and I may be an Assamese, but we can boast of being the descendants of mighty souls. Unity is promoted by preserving individuality.

Tell me, will you find it anywhere, but in India?

So as responsible citizens who are the devotees of mother India, let's be vigilant and take our country to new and marvellous heights of devolpment.

UNITY IN DIVERSITY.

JAI HIND,
nishtha.

The various points which you could include while writing your article on Celebrating Diversity and Working for Unity are:

Mohandas K. Gandhi could be quoted as: I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stifled. I want all the cultures of all lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any.

The basic essence of humanity is the difference which individuals share among each other. Celebrating the difference is itself a celebration of secularism.

Difference in religion, culture, region, etc. is what makes one man different from another, making it interesting to embrace everyone.

Accepting the difference and maintaining unity is the real test of peace and harmony in the society.

With God's grace we have been gifted with the aspect of multiculturalism where we can know, learn and be with people from different areas and religions. This is an accident of birth and it should therefore never be the source of hatred or conflict. The answer to difference is to respect it.

Rene Dubos has very rightly said that human diversity makes tolerance more than a virtue; it makes it a requirement for survival.
