Subject: Selfie-mania turning
dangerous
Sir:
I am writing this letter in utter shock
and anguish to bring
to your kind notice the problem of
selfie-mania getting worse with each
passing
day. Who knew smart-phones
equipped with high-resolution
cameras for selfies
would turn out to be the cause of fatal
accidents one day? It is not
exaggeration; every other day the
news about accidents occurring
during selfies
can be read. People fall from heights,
drown in rivers, or collide with
fast-moving vehicles.
Last evening a boy was seriously
injured while taking selfie
on the edge of the road; he became so
absorbed in posing for selfie, that a
speeding
car hit him badly. He is admitted in the
hospital and is in ICU. Through the
medium of your esteemed daily I
appeal to people and the concerned
authorities
to be sensitive to this issue. The
people must be vigilant and cautious;
the
Government should also make some
laws to discourage accidents caused
by
selfie-mania. I hope you will give my
views enough space in the columns of
your
reputed daily.
Yours truly,
Suresh
