Dear Mr. ABC,
I recently had a poor experience with your dry cleaning shop and I am very upset about this. I would like to offer you an opportunity to resolve this issue.
I dropped off an expensive suit on September 18, 2016 (copy of my receipt is enclosed). Your employee who took the order was Mr. H. I clearly explained that the suit was an expensive one and utmost care needed to be taken. I also got assurance from Mr. H that your treatments are colour proof and my suit will be returned in a sportless condition. Just for your information, I had received this suit as a gift from my grandmother just two months before she died. So this suit has a lot of sentimental value to me.
I returned on January 20th to pick up the suit. When I was handed over the suit, I noticed that it was folded over, and not hanging up on the hanger. I didn’t think much about it, until I got home. When I unfolded it to put it on my suit hanger, I noticed discolouration on the suit. On further inspection I discovered that the whole suit was blemished and had been discoloured all over. I have included a photo for your reference.
Honestly, if the attendant had just explained what happened, may be I could have overlooked this incident. I am most upset that they intentionally hid this mistake from me, and still required me to pay. I have not yet contacted the local Consumer Forum Office, nor have I posted this experience on any review websites or social media. I wanted to give you a chance to correct this issue before I took any other steps.
I am kindly asking that your refund the cost for the dry cleaning, alongwith the value of the suit. The eBay value of this sweater would be about I was charged Rs. 450 by your shop towards dry cleaning charges. I have enclosed a self addressed stamped envelope for your convenience.
You can also reach me at 1234-123-1234. I hope to hear from you soon.
Respectfully,
XYZ

Mr Verin,
Subject: Damage done to my suite... Request for compensation.
Reference : receipt number : 1292928392 dated 13/09/2016
On the 13th of Sept, I had given my expensive blue colored coat for dry cleaning in your shop on the SPR road. Your employee that gentleman took it and assured me that the suit will be dry cleaned very well. There will not be any damage.
I was to wear that suit for an important business trip. That was the reason I was concerned so much. I was assured twice by your staff and manager. The suit was returned to me on the due date 16th of September after the dry cleaning process.
When I verified the suit that was delivered to me, I found that the colour faded in the front left hand side and on the back of the coat. There were small threads also coming out. This I complained to your staff. But they did not agree that there was a problem in the cleaning process. I have my photo of the suit just taken in the last week. I am enclosing that picture. And, I am also enclosing the picture of todays' condition of the suit.
It is certain that damage has been done by use of harmful chemicals or soaps. Also handling was not done well. I am requesting you to pay the damages. You will pay me the 100% of the cost of the suit. Also, the damages for delaying and causing pain to me.
I case you do not agree, I shall complain in the consumer court. I give you 3 days to reply to my complaint and request for compensation. Please do not think that I will not go to court and hence ignore this decent request.
yours sincerely and regards,
Kevin
