I have written this letter to congratulate on having reached the half-century milestone in your life.
A man had once said,"Aging is the best natural process, as it symbolises experience and wisdom". This is true for my dear aunt too. I felt extremely sad not being able to attend the party at the abott hotel as I had dengue, but heard all about it from my brother...(go on to describe the party and continue the letter. in the last para, ask your aunt to convey your regards to your uncle, her husband)

Dear Aunt,
        May this letter find you in pink of health. I wrote this to congratulate you on your 50th birthday. It is indeed a special day as you have just completed half a century. I wish you live for another 50 years and continue to bless us all. Also, I apologise for being unable to attend the celebration of your long age, but here, I pray for your well-being and prosperity. And to end this on a good note, remember- Growing old is out of control, but growing up, that's a choice!
