Dear Maya,
Thank you for your letter. It was great to hear from you after so many days. Yes, we also celebrated 26th January in our school with great pomp and show. As you know I always participate in speech competition, so this year too I participated and have won it. I was given a chance to represent my school on the central playground, which is near to our school.
The flag was hoisted early morning, followed by the guest speech. The BDO had made his august presence and gave us a very inspiring speech on Unity is Strength. Thereafter followed the march past and the the various cultural events which was organised on the occasion.
But this was not the end. As you know every year we have a parade competition in the Central Play Ground which is organised by Tata Steel, and numerous school represents to compete on the occasion. This year our school's senior boys stood first in the competition, but our senior girls lost their chance by a few glitches.
That's all for now. Hope to meet you soon, this coming summer. Till then take care, and all the best for your studies.
Love,
Haasini

Hope this helps

Dear Harsh:

I hope this letter finds you in fine fettle. I am writing this letter to share with you how we celebrated Republic Day at the school. I felt so patriotic today during the Republic Day Celebrations at school today.  We celebrated it one day in advance as Republic Day is an off day, yet we celebrated it with complete fervor. The entire school assembled at the ground. The principal hoisted the Tricolor. The national anthem echoed in the entire campus. After the anthem there was class-wise march past. Students marched in contingents to the beat of drum while the principal presided over it. After the march past, one act play highlighting the hanging of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev brought tears to everyone’s eyes. The group song ‘Ai Mere Vatan Ke Logo’ filled everyone with pure patriotism. At the end, the Chairman gave a speech reminding the students and the teachers of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and made us take pledge to serve our motherland, India with heart, body, and soul to bring it glory and laurels with our dignified deeds. At the end the students were distributed sweets. I really had a great time!  Kindly do tell me how you celebrated the Republic Day at your school. Give regards to uncle and aunt.

Yours lovingly,

Nishant
