My dear friend,

Hope, this letter finds you well and you are enjoying good health. You will be glad to know that I am also doing well over here. I am writing this letter to tell you about delhi darshan trip. Few days ago, our school organized a trip to delhi. I also participated over there. We had a great fun there. We delighted to see the beauty of delhi. We visited historical places there and also visited many religious places. That was really the best and memorable visit of my life.

                  Yours sincerely,

Hi Sheets! How are you, aunty and uncle and your little sister Renita? Hope you are doing by the grace of God. I am sorry as I could not write to you earlier. I had gone away on a week’s trip to Delhi with the school tour. Each year our school arranges a study come fun tour and this year it was proposed by us students to go to Delhi, since we had read a lot about Delhi and its historical monuments, we wanted the school to take us there. I must say it was such a beautiful place and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

The city is so popular for its deepened culture and heritage, and it hosts some of the well-known historical monuments. The inspiration and impact of religious diversity is witnessed in the city together with the cultural influence of the ancient Indian, the British, and the Mughals. There are so many 'beautiful gardens in this city', away from 'pollution and busy city life' which give opportunities to 'walk leisurely amidst the greenery'!!! We had also visited Old Delhi, which is very popular for its primeval culture and monuments together with its swarming gastronomical streets.

I must say Delhi is a place where people of any age can enjoy as the city has something for everyone to complement their interests. This remarkable Indian capital which I was told was architecturally designed some famous British architecture named Edwin Lutyens pleasantly contrasts the twisted streets of Old Delhi. There were also many local markets and shopping malls for visitors and locals, giving us a wide option to shop in this city. Wide options for eating out in this city are there as the city houses several restaurants and eating outlets serving relishing and traditional cuisines.

Of the historical monuments we had visited the Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb, Jantar Mantar, Qutub Minar, and India Gate. While seeing the Red Fort, I was visualising how the Prime Minister hoist the flag at the main gate of the fort and delivers a nationwide broadcast speech from its battlements. The Qutub Minar is a 73-metre tall tapering tower of 5 storeys!!! The Humayun’s tomb, I was told has a particular cultural significance since it was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent! I have so much to say and write about Delhi that it would run to pages! :)

I am leaving the rest as I would want you to visit Delhi someday with your family. I am sure you would be as excited as I am. Fine, I must catch up with some unfinished errands. I shall write to you soon. Convey my regards to your parents and Renita.

Please be in touch!

Regards

Bsn
