The French revolution lasted for 10 years from 1789 to 1799, beginning on July 14,1789. It was a watershed event that began with the ascent of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolution had a great impact on Europe and the so called New World. It brought liberalism and the end of many feudal or traditional laws and practices. The Italians also gained benefit from this revolution as they had begun to be aware of a common nationality.
