Explanation:
I was in grade 5 and was an eloquent speaker. I participated in elocution competitions of our school. I prepared for it day and night. My efforts were finally rewarded when I bagged gold medals in the competitions.
The notice about the same competition was announced next year. I was extremely excited and participated again. It was again that I worked out giving my best. I was very confident. And the competition day arrived.
With my bells on I stepped on the stage. I started "Good morning....."Suddenly, one of my competitors removed the electric plug. The bright hall turned dark now. I was disappointed but I did not lose hopes. I spoke loud without the mic. But alas! My voice was not audible to the judges.
I had merely lost the competition this year. But, on the result day I got to know that I had won. I was astonished to hear that. Later,I came to know that the judges had gone through my past speeches in the cameras and marked my based on my expressions. I guess that was my luck. And my spirits rose there after.
MORAL: Never lose hopes.
